The Pho is the traditional dish in Vietnamese cuisine. It is based on what is generically called a noodle soup. It is served in a bowl with rice noodles in a beef broth with small elongated pieces of meat. The dish is usually garnished with ingredients such as: chives, white onions, coriander leaves, coriander, mint, basil, lemon or lime, soy and pepper sprouts. These last four ingredients are served in a separate dish so that the diner can season the soup to taste.
